Cargèse is a coastal village located 50 km north of Ajaccio. Ajaccio has a national airport with flights from (and to) Paris, Nice and Marseille. Cargèse can be reached by taxi from Ajaccio airport (45 minutes) but we shall organize bus transportation for participants between the airport and Cargèse on Novembre 1st (arrival) and on Novembre 11th (departure).

How to go from Roissy airport to Orly airport
Allow about 3 hours between the landing of your international flight in Charles de Gaulle airport and the take-off of your domestic flight to Corsica in Orly. To go from Roissy airport to Orly aiport, we strongly advise that you use the Air France coaches. The cost of the one-way ticket is 19 euros.  The travel time is not more than one hour when there is no traffic jam, which should be the case on October 31st and on November 1st.

You may also take a taxi between the two airports but the cost varies between 55 euros and 90 euros.

Travel between Ajaccio airport and Cargese
For November 1st : there will be two bus departures from Ajaccio airport
-one at about 2:45 pm (the bus will wait for the arrival of the Easyjet 3777 flight at 2:20 pm);
-one at about 7 pm (the bus will wait for the arrival of the AF4764 flight at 6:25 pm).
For arrivals later than the second bus: the list of the participants with name and arrival time is posted on the main page. Do not hesitate to contact participants arriving at the same time as you so that you can share a taxi. Please let us know  if you plan to arrive later than the second bus: the Cargese School will organize the taxis as the drivers they are used to work with will know your place of stay in the village. (Please note that the bus transportation is free of charge but not the taxi; the day fare is about 90 euros and the night fare 120 euros.)

What to bring with you
-The walking time between the Cargèse Institute and the Cargèse village, where most lecturers and participants will stay, is between 15 and 20 minutes. We therefore recommand comfortable shoes for these daily walks.
-If you have a laptop, do not hesitate to bring it with you.
-It is hard to predict the weather during the School of course but the average temperature in November in Ajaccio for the last ten years ranges approximately between 8 and 18 degrees Celsius. It may be sunny but rain as well.
